Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actress singer and dancer. Her early Broadway productions include Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. In You Can't Take It With You in which she was awarded the Tony Award as Best Featured actor in an Play. Annaleigh Ashford, a Tony Award-winning actor as well as director, has spent the bulk of her professional career working alongside prominent directors and actors on stage and screen. Ashford's next venture will be an exclusive Hulu series titled Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show debuts on November 22 and Ashford stars opposite Kumail Najiani. Ashford is currently working on the film of Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust starring Sarah Paulson. The film will be aired on Disney DTC as a Hulu Original. Ashford is scheduled to return to Broadway in the month of March 2023 with the role of Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production takes place at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will be the creative team for the show. Ashford was most recently seen as Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment which is based on the crisis in America that picked across the country. Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters as the nation's first impeachment trial in more than one century. Her two-season stint on the CBS comedy B Positive was her first significant role. Also, she was a part of the popular series developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, that starred the legendary actresses Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. A veteran of Broadway Ashford has won both the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her performance as Essie. The actress has also been in Broadway on Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde as well as the original character in the role of Lauren in Kinky Boots for which she received a nomination for a Tony Award. Ashford is a Denver native who now divides her time in Los Angeles.
